Colville is a town in Northeastern Washington. It's clean and tidy with a nice main street and friendly people. Colville is the Stevens County seat with a nice courthouse surrounded by a small picturesque garden. Nearby is a lovely park with blooming roses and other flowers in the summer and extremely tall pine trees. I was born in Colville and lived there a short time as a baby. Both sets of my grandparents lived in the area. My mother's parents lived in Kettle. My great, great, grandparents through both my grandparents on my fathers side, were from Colville or the surrounding area. So though I didn't live there during my child hood I spent a lot of time there.
My mother and father were divorced when I was in grade school and my father eventually moved back to Colville and I visited him there every other weekend, some of the summer and holidays. Much of my time here was spent in the forests, and fishing on the water ways in the area. I always loved the outdoors and the lovely area around Colville. I finally moved to Colville during my junior year in high school, graduated from Colville High School. I left shortly after graduation to move to the Washington coast. Though my life took me other places I always wanted to move back to Colville, I was finally able to do so in January of 2012.
I've always considered Colville my home, even though I didn't live here a great deal of time in my youth. I love living here again. Even though many of my immediate family that lived here have passed on, I still have quite a few of their papers, photos and memorabilia. With these items I'm starting this web site about the history of Colville, which I intend to include with my own research and links to other historical web sites.
